Q:    How long have you been playing?

A:    I started playing when I was about 11, and when I was 16 I started playing professionally for bands. Do I HAVE to tell you how long that's been?! ;-) The first band I ever played in was called Oakstone Chapel. We practiced in an old Catholic church with wooden gravestones in the churchyard.

Q:    Who are your influences?

A:    Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Metallica.... There's plenty more because all kinds of music influence me in some way or another.

Q:    What kind of music do you listen to?

A:       That's a hard question because there is a wide variety of genres that I listen to. Classic rock, Creed, Faith Hill (my favorite), Beethoven, New Age music, Celtic music, just to name a few.

Q:    What kind of equipment do you use?

A:    Ampeg SVT, G&L bass, Fender Precision, Rickenbacher. This rockin' rig is thanks to Crossroads and Midwest Music!

Q:    What's your favorite colour?

A:    Blood red.

Q:    Why do they call you Maddog?

A:    I got the name from the first time I was in Shagnasty. There was no special reason behind it, it just sort of stuck.

Q:    Do you have any children?

A:    Yes, there's my son, Jamie. He's a rapper who can throw down the rhymes! There's also my two beautiful daughters, Katie and Jennifer, who both sing and play the violin. And for all the beautiful ladies out there, I have NO WIFE!!!

Q:    What other bands have you performed with?

A:    After Oakstone Chapel, I played with Shagnasty for eight years. Then it was Tequila Jam, then Locomotive, then Burning Bridges, and then back to Shagnasty! I was always a Nasty boy at heart.

Q:    Are you originally from Salina?

A:    No, I'm from Minneapolis (Kansas).

Q:    What else would you like to add?

A:     I like to give rock bass lessons. E-mail me at maddog_56@lycos.com if you're interested!
